Okay so i took the PSAT in 10th grade and thought it was ridic my score was absolutely horrific. and now gonna be a junior and HAVE to take it. i signed of to take the ACT this Oct because maybe my shot at that would be better. The weird thing is that Im a really good student and get very good grades on regents. Do you think the ACT will be better for me. Or either way there is no way i can do good. I have been taking an SAT class and my scores just won't improve. It really just stinks thou because it could and probably will hinder my chances into getting into my dream school NYU

Come back and ask when you get your ACT scores back.

How horrible was the psat grade?
I got a 175 when i was sophmore but with hard work i got a 2100 on the SAT

I got a 158 on the PSAT in my sophomore year and a 1940 on the actual SAT and now I'm shooting for a 2050+ With hard work you can improve pretty drastically.

crisscross and Claire1016 what are some of the things you did to improve so much? thanks guys

I took a class but that was pretty much useless. I think what improved my score so much was studying on my own. I used the barrons books, the collegeboard book (blue book), and I studied vocab. Most of my improvement was in the critical reading section for some reason. I still have a long ways to go working on the math section, but studying diligently pays off.
