SAT Tutors

I need help with the reading portion of the SAT but I don’t where to find a good tutor. I tried the website Wyzant but I couldn’t find a reliable tutor. Are there any helpful websites to help me find a good tutor?

I’ll try my best to answer this question without bias since I am a private tutor myself, and I don’t want to violate any College Confidential rules.

One advice I can give is to speak to the tutor over the phone or in person to see if they are someone you would be willing to work with.

Why not check in with the guidance department at your high school? That’s one way I’ve gotten tutoring clients in the past-- I send them a copy of my resume so that they can verify for the kids that I’m legit.

I paid for a tutor and did not find much help there. I got a 33 on the ACT by simply doing practices. I would just read the strategies for the reading section online and find what works best for you. Get an SAT book and start doing a LOT of reading sections. You will get faster, work smarter, and better understand the questions the SAT asks.

Crimson Education offer SAT tutoring and people like Kaplan etc. Try to go to some fairs as there will be tutors there
