Many people told me I shouldn't take the SAT US history because there is no AP US history at our school. But I took the normal US history class and I knew most of the information in the course. Should I take the SAT US history or no because I didn't have an advanced class?

You don’t need an advanced US history class to be prepared for the SAT 2. You do need to have lots and lots of facts on your fingertips. Study and memorize – review books, flash cards, etc.

If you’re unsure about the amount of preparation that you’ll need, take a practice test or two. You’ll quickly figure that out.

Get a prep book. You might not get an 800 but a good score is definitely possible.

Yeah i got barrons. I heard it helps out a lot

i would get a book like the Princeton Review for a basic outline. Then get Larry Krieger’s AP US History book. My son and all of his friends used it and all got 4’s or 5’s very easily. It is great and concise.

hey is this test a all multiple choice test?

is the ap history test the same as the sat subject test for us history?

The SAT Subject Test is a one hour multiple choice test that is given in October,November,December,January,May and June. The scores from this test can be submitted in support of your college application. The AP US History exam is only given in May. The test is multiple choice, essay and DBQ. Many colleges will give you college credit or allow you to avoid an intro class if you have a high score.
Whichever test you elect to take follow the earlier posters suggestion and use Krieger’s book!
