SAT vs. ACT for RD

Which one does Vandy usually lean toward, or will they take the highest one? I made a 2260 (690 M, 770 CR, 800 W) on the SAT and a 32 on the ACT. I know that the 2260 is equivalent to a 33 or 34 on the ACT, but I know Vandy can be really tough for RD. Thanks to anyone who answers and Merry Christmas!

Be happy with your test scores if you are a senior and move on to polishing your essays. Send only your SAT unless there is a section in the ACT that shines in math or science to add more luster to your 690 in math. Some colleges use the ACT sections like mini subject tests.

Good luck~!

Your SAT is the equivalent of a 33 as Vanderbilt does not consider the writing portion of the test. Should submit the SAT unless, as Faline mentioned, you performed better than the 92nd percentile in Math/science on the ACT (690 puts you in 92nd percentile).

I think Vandy will take note of the 800 in writing as an indication of readiness for doing well in verbal work, just sayin’ it can only be a plus. Make sure you essays are congruent with that score.
