SAT vs ACT?

I'm debating whether I should take the ACT instead of the SAT. I'm pretty bad at the sentence completion questions of the critical reading section although the comprehension component doesn't cause me much issue. And since I don't know many of the grammar rule required for the writing section i've also done pretty poorly in it in the practice test I took from the BB. But i've been told the issues I'm having can easily be resolved by learning the grammar rules and memorising vocab. I haven't got a problem with the maths section thankfully. Btw I'm aiming to get over 2250 - on the practice test I took from the BB I scored a 2080 composite (CR650, M770, W660) without any revision.

Yesterday, I did some of the online ACT questions and they seemed so much more easier because everything was so straightforward. This had made me seriously reconsider taking the SAT because i'm probably more likely to score higher in the ACT. Studying for the ACT IMO also seems like it would be much easier since there isn't much you can do for the reading/science sections meaning I'd only need to prep for the maths/english section.

However, here's the issue with deciding to take the ACT. If I spend the summer studying for the ACT i'd have less to time to prep for the PSAT (want to qualify for NMSF) which could result in getting a lower score in both the PSAT and ACT. If I take the SAT, it would be much less of a hassle as I've already got all the books i need (don't have any ACT ones) and I wouldn't need to study concurrently for the ACT. Focusing on only the PSAT/SAT will hone my skills and would probably result in a higher score.

So, should I prep for the SAT over the summer and take it in October and see how I do. If I do badly, i'll start prepping for the ACT and i'll take it during the next testing date. Or should I study for the PSAT and ACT and take both of them in October and then opt to study for the SAT if I do badly in the ACT?

Btw can you tell me the benefits of doing the PSAT if I'm a US citizen that lives abroad other than qualifying as a NMSF?? Would I be eligible for other scholarships if I do well on the PSAT or are scholarships granted on the bases of your SAT/ACT score?
