SAT vs ACT!?

What is the difference between these 2 tests? Which is better to take for what skill set. I am very good at math, I have a mediocre vocabulary, and I am decent at vocabulary. I don't really get the difference between the two tests. I am really ignorant, I know but could some one explain?

SAT:
10 sections (Essay 1st, Writing last, experimental hidden, everything else is random)
-Essay is often very broad (what is your view on optimism?)
-CR mostly tests you on vocab
-Math is tricky, goes up to Algebra 2
-Writing gives you a sentence and asks you where the error is.

Sec. 1-9: 25 minutes
Sec. 10: 10 minutes

I may be wrong on SAT, cause I've never taken it.

ACT:
4 sections (English, Math, Reading, Science, Essay in that order)
-English tells you where the supposed error is, and asks you what's wrong about it. ACT tests you more on punctuation and logical placements of paragraphs.
-Math tests trig. Angle of elevation/depression, and law of sine/cosine.
-Reading is four passages, and tests your ability to understand passages quickly.
-Science tests you on your ability to comprehend graphs and charts quickly.
-The essay is relevant to high school students (what is your take on school uniforms?)

English: 75 questions, 45 minutes
Math: 60 questions, 60 minutes
Reading: 40 questions, 35 minutes (4 passages)
Science: 40 questions, 35 minutes (7 labs)
Essay: 30 minutes

I found the ACT math to be more difficult than the SAT math. Conversely, I thought the ACT's english/reading sections were a bit of a joke compared to the SAT's. That's only from my view, though.

Oh, and the SAT doesn't have a science section.

Ooh thanks so much. I am very familiar with the SAT (I live on the east coast...for some reason NO ONE here talks about ACT where I live?). Anyway, I think I will take the ACT to see how I will do. I am good at finding punctuation problems/those types of errors. I found the math SAT to be sort of a joke (the practice ones I have taken) where as I found the critical reading to be very difficult!

and OP (my thing won't let me edit anymore) do people take ACT at your school? Are you thinking of taking it? We seem to be good a similar things.
