I've taken the SAT once and just wanted to know which one is easier. Which one do colleges prefer? How long is the ACT, and what's on it? So many questions...

I don't really have good experience with ACT, but I have taken practice ones, so here it goes:

Most of people say that if you are math/science person, ACT will be easier. And I found math section of ACT harder than that of SAT.

There is no guessing penalty for ACT, but there is for SAT.
There is science section in ACT.
In reading/science section in ACT, I found it hard to finish the section in time, where as I have no time problem on SATs.
ACT gives you 30 minutes for essay, and that really makes a difference. (At least for me)

I'm not sure if there's anything more to add.
Oh, the question type is consistent for each section for ACT.
(so Nothing like SC, Short passage, long passage in CR of SAT)

I agree with barum, I found the math portion of the ACT harder. It's missing the nice curve that you find in the SAT (or that's what I believe anyways). However, if you compare the scores by looking at score ranges for colleges, I guess you could say I did better on the ACT than I did on the SAT, even though it was my first time taking the ACTs and I felt way more comfortable taking the SATs.
