SAT vs ACT

I would like to major in one of the sciences, and was considering whether or not to take the ACT.

I have already taken the SAT and plan on taking it again in the fall, but would it help to take the ACT as well?

And if so, how if is different form the SAT?

SAT purports to measure one's academic reasoning abilities whereas the ACT is designed to measure academic achievement.

I personally hate the ACT, but if you're not doing well on the SAT then the ACT seems to be a viable alternative for many.

I used to be a proponent of the ACT, but really, I wasn't sure at all about it when I walked out of there. It's just too nerve-racking of a test.

if you're good with time constraints definitely take the ACT. there's no reason not to, and if you do better on your ACTs than SATs, you don't even have to send your SAT scores.

i say go for the ACT since you don't have to send your scores if you aren't happy. you also get a chance to demonstrate your abilities in science (not really, just reading graphs), but still, a high science score could be a plus if you want to be a science major
