Do colleges look at both your essay and MC score or just the composite score? I got a 770 on my writing (essay - 8, MC - 80), and I wasn't actually too worried about it until I started reading the SAT threads here.

What do you think? I am not going to retake my SATs whatsoever -just can't be bothered to; I have loads of works to do anyways - but I would like to know.

Thanks!

No, colleges will look at both scores. When you send a score report to the colleges you applied to, everything is sent including essay grade, MC, composite score, etc. Just like you would see when you checked your scores.

Hi, and congratulations! This is a fabulous WR score. The 770 is very impressive, and a perfect score on the multiple choice: woohoo!!

My best advice: NEXT!!

…Get to that common app essay. Breathe in summer air. Finalize your app list. Think happy thoughts. Stay out of trouble. (Good luck.)
