SAT2 Good Enough For Ivies?

Hey. I have decent SAT 2 scores and im thinking about taking Math 2C in nov, but do u think as of now my top three are good enuf? i heard they have to be over 750.... Thanks.

Math IC: 740
Chemistry: 750
Biology M: 710
US History: 630

Your last two are really low for HYPS, but if score high on Math IIC (atleast a 780) then its worth it.

youre math and chem grades are great, but bio could be higher and US History could be much higher. and math 2C you should do well, and if you get like 770+ the colleges might disregard your 630 on US History. As long as your GPA is at least a 3.8 and you have great EC's then your chances for getting into an ivy is high. oh yeah and if your SATI is over a 2200 you are looking like a good candidate for an ivy.

I have a similar question.
USH: 660
MATHI: 690
PHYSICS: 580 (YIKES!)

I'm going to be taking at least 3 more SAT II's, and I am confident that I will do better (I took these ones in the middle of finals). I know the physics one sucks, but how about the other 2?

thx for ur inputs. yea i knew my bio and us would be low, so im trying to make up for it with the math 2C. regarding ECs, im pretty sure its very good, and gpa is def in that range, if not higher. but my sat1 is like a 2080....(Math 760 Reading 600 Writing 720 Essay 11). Will that ruin my shots? im more of a science/math type so hopefully the reading won't kill me..... thx again!

Piggyback!

Biology E- 770
Math IIC- 750
US History- 690...

So will colleges (Yale, Dartmouth, Johns Hopkins) be frowning upon that last one? I did get a 5 on the AP USH test, so could that counter it? And plus, I'm going to be a pre-med/biology major so with all that, do you all think I need to retake the last one (and possibly Math)?

I was planning on taking USH in October...it seems to me like it's much harder than I was predicting...is it very hard?

I thought I did much better on the USH test than I actually did...I'm hoping that I did well on the AP test. Also, how big of a factor are the SAT II's really? I got a 34 ACT and 2240 SAT. Will my lower SAT II's hurt me? I also have a 4.0UW GPA. I'm really disappointed on how I did on the physics test, but plan on taking Spanish (confident in 700+), Math II (will study for this, plus I know the curve for Math I is rougher), and probably Biology M (will study!).

I just found out that I got a 4 on the APUSH test. Will this balance out the average SAT II?

you guys have to butt in my thread and make me feel worse by asking for advices when u dont even need any at all dont u?

Your average is above 700. I don't think they will hurt you at the ivies, but they probably won't help you either.

KaitenKenbu, you obviously did better on the SATII's than me. I had a similar question and didn't want to start up a new thread. Sorry.

alyssie sry for getting mad lol. actually ur sat 1 score discouraged me haha. but i guess i still got too carried away. i guess its ok to just ask on this thread. its a free country :) but anyway good job on ur ACT and SAT 1! i wish i could do that well too. lol.

No worries kaitenkenbu...but will a 4 or 5 on an AP test balance out a poor SAT II score?

A score of 5 might but a score of 4 may not unfortunately.

Your SATs are probably fine, but not amazing by ivy standards

Couldn't resist adding mine- good enough for ivies?
780 French
780 Chem
730 Bio
710 US
(If it would help at all, I have 5s in AP Bio and US)
I really just want to be done w/SATs, but I feel bad w/everyone else's 800s. I'm quite good at math, so should I just do IIC since it has a great curve? I hate to take another SAT, but it's only an hour long.
