I am a student that has not taken any physics classes in high school yet, but I plan to self study for SAT2 physics for this fall. Does anyone know the best prep book to buy in preparation for this test? I am looking for a book that actually TEACHES the material, and not just a surface review of the subject.

If you want to learn the material, try AP Physics B: Cracking the Ap Physics B test princeton review, I used it to study for the ap test this year (which is much harder than the physics sat).

I’m not sure that will be enough. The subject test covers electricity and magnetism as well as mechanics (AP Physics C).
