I think I am going to apply to WashU ED and I have not taken any SAT2s and I am not planning on doing so. I have taken the ACT twice and I am only sending my ACT. Will not sending any SAT 2s hurt my application to the Olin Business School or do I not even need to take them?

It can’t really hurt to just take them, but you don’t need them either.
By the way, do most people in this thread live in the midwest (where I hear the ACT is more popular), because in Florida, barely anyone I know takes the ACT, whereas the SAT gets hundreds of people to show up at each school hosting the test (Just the SAT II’s may have more show up sometimes than the ACT’s on some test dates).

In the Midwest, more people take the ACT than the SAT. That is probably because most kids go to their StateUs. D took both SAT and ACT, but no SAT2s.

“Cool, thanks for the quick responses. I guess I don’t need to take them.”

Unless you have a stellar SAT and ACT (I would say around 33-34 ACT and 2200-2400) then it is up to you. However, just know that you are up against students that are extremely good at school and standardized testing. Your choice. It really will help though if you score good. It makes your chances better.

I took SAT 2s…but since my HS puts SAT 1 scores on the transcript, and Wash U accepts these, I was too stingy to shell out however much it costs to send my SAT 2s to Wash U. Still accepted, regular decision.

I went on a tour today and someone asked about the SAT II…

So, they don’t have any relevance to your acceptance…might boost your chances a small bit if you scored very high? Don’t worry if you didn’t score high on it because from what they said, they’re looking at your top scores of each main components of the ACT or SAT. They even said that writing is recommended on the ACT. O_o
