I was deferred early action from Georgetown, and I have a few questions regarding testing.

There is a huge discrepancy between my ACT scores and my SAT scores. We're talking around 110 points. But, alas, Georgetown makes me send every test my pencil ever touched early on a Saturday morning.

Georgetown could have deferred me for a whole array of issues--GPA, SATIIs, etc. However, it always makes me wonder if there was a debilitating effect of my lower SAT scores. As in, they would probably have to include them in their averages despite my higher ACT scores, thus deterring them from accepting the app.

Also: Side note. What is going on with the EA SAT middle 50? 700-770 for math?! The average form last year was 650-750 overall. What's up there?

Charles Deacon seems to think the most informative part of an application (read: person) is his or her test scores. He is rather candid in this regard, saying in a 2003 abc article that what he looks for are "kids who test well, and back it up with other accomplishments." Perhaps this is a sign that GU is not a good fit for me, because although my scores are fine, I would hardly base a person's future off of his test scores. But you can see my concern: if SATs are so important, perhaps my strong ACTs are forgotten?
