How do you get into Musical Theater programs if your SAT scores aren't that great. I have good grades and feel confident as a triple threat performer but I am not a great test taker! Most of these great schools have difficult academic requirements.... anyone know if your audition is great but SATs aren't - can you still get in??

The folks here [Musical Theater Major - College Confidential](Musical Theater Major - College Confidential Forums) have the experience to answer this. Audition based, audition driven admits change the parameters greatly, but it is too school specific to provide a general answer.

I’d suggest you repost in that sub-forum.

violadad is right!!! Go to the Musical Theater Major Forum and be prepared to spend a lot of time going through the threads to get all of the info you need. There is a list of threads at the top labeled IMPORTANT- they have a ton of information for you including BA vs. BFA programs, importance of GPA and testing, auditioning tips, etc. You will find that while it always important to keep your grades up and try for the best on SAT’s so that you will have a lot of options, high SAT’s are not as important in a lot of cases as a great audition. You can pm me if you have any questions- my daughter went to BoCo for 1 semester and is now transferring to the Penn State MT program. Good luck!
