SATs are not as important as you think.

for every person who tries his/her best and gets into a college beyond dreams is a person who also tried her/his best and failed to get into even their safeties…

You pick Stanford over Harvard? o____0 ?!?!?! why? D:

You are just AMAZING!! No wonder these schools accepted you.

@asianeekamkee - I can tell you one reason why I wouldn’t choose Harvard considering my circumstances, but you’d have to realize that every school has their strengths and weaknesses, and therefore Harvard is not at it’s best at all, - for example when it comes to Computer Science. And don’t come with Mark Zuckerberg. Berkeley, Stanford and MIT are the #1 schools when it comes to Computer Science, Harvard is barely reaching the top 20s. My point is that you shouldn’t pick a school just because it’s called Harvard. Pick a school where you’ll be happy at, because those will probably be the most important years of your life.

In fact, consider a top LAC, where the emphasis is on undergraduate education (although you’ll work harder).

@Fintork… I see I understand. haha.

I was about to stop coming on this site completely (people on here are mean and very discouraging), but you honestly just lifted my spirits.

Guys, what most likely got her in was the fact that the schools could see that she did things that ACTUALLY MEANT SOMETHING TO HER!! She didn’t just do them and spend $2,000 on SAT prep to strive for a 2350 just to get in.

I’m sick of people on this site putting others down and just being rude in general (not saying some people don’t have excessive reaches, but you should gently explain to them what you think. STOP being harsh).

For all of the students who feel put down and discouraged, use this nice person’s story as a motivation. We can all do it! :)

P.S. The chance forum should be deleted (I have just discovered this in the past 2 days). After reflecting, I think I will stop coming on this site, and I will encourage others to stop, too.

Stonesn are you honestly saying that the op isn’t academically qualified for top schools because she didn’t do well on a fill-in-the-bubble standardized test? Come on…
