<p>I was wondering if retaking the SATs in December of 2008 would be too late for an admissions cut off date of Jan 1, 2009.</p>

<p>It may be, depending on when the scores get sent out. I took the SAT on December 1, 2007 and the scores were available online on December 20 and I believe they arrived at my schools on either the 29th or 30th. Just to make sure, though, I would order rush reports.</p>
<p>Each college sets its own rules. Harvard (with a 1 January application deadline) accepts the first test of the new year. Each college website will tell you what that college's rules are.</p>
