So why doesn't the College Board add a SAT test date in September? That way we could actually get our scores in time for early admission deadlines. Especially now that it's been taking so much longer to get the scores.
They have them almost every other month so why not September?

they are on vacations

I thought you could take it in October and have the scores sent, and still count.

you can and for some colleges you can even rush november scores and make it in time. You just have to call up the individual college that you are applying ED to and ask them if that is possible.

What is the latest date you can take the SAT for RD?

I believe it is december but I am not sure.

for RD is january

SAT cannot be in september because no one will remember to register in the summer

^ What?? They'll remember to register as soon as they are disappointed by their June scores.

exactly.
And if the SAT was in september I think I'd actually be motivated to study over the summer.
October just seems so far away in August it's impossible to do anything.

And it would be a chance to find out your score before taking PSATs, which would be kinda cool.

I'd figure that they can't get proctors in September, when teachers are only beginning to get into the swing of the year.

maybe the admission deadlines should not be early. Maybe colleges could delay the "early" admission deadline so that the October SAT test takers could get their scores in on time.

but there is a way to do that: it's called rushing your scores. Although this costs you money, it is not the colleges fault on how the collegeboard operates. I don't like this fact, but it is a reality. A college is not going to change such a policy just for one sitting of the SAT. That's just not reasonable. Then if that happens they would have to push the RD deadline into mid-January because the work would be too much to get done in a shorter time period. So colleges are going to make it easier on themselves and are just not going to change anything.

I believe (at least on most sites that I've looked at) that the regular October scores (not rushed) will be considered for ED and EA.

Most schools do not need SAT scores by the time the applications are due. They take that as extra information when they are sent in.

What about November? Say you take the SAT I in October and the II's in November and ED is Nov. 1. Can you send the scores seperatly and send them in when you get them or something?

Just too shy to ask a specific college.
