No, I will not apologize for hurting your feelings when I told you to clean up after yourself. You are an adult. You should clean up after yourself. Sulk away. I can outlast you.

Thereā€™s a mother who moved to another state with her son whoā€™s attending a college so that he could pay in state tuition. (The parents are not divorced) They live together during the undergraduate time, and heā€™ll be going to a graduate school. Sheā€™s talking about following him (and live with him). Thatā€™s the ultimate HELICOPTER PARENT! Your son will never be able to have a girl friend or wife!

I am happy to be your 4th in bridgeā€¦ if it works for me. I explained that I already play with 2 other groups and we play 2 slightly different ways, (different bidding protocols) which is confusing enough. Texting me 14 times to try to convince me to play your way, when I have been pretty clear from the get-go that that is simply too confusing for me, and continuing to text me multiple times after I tell you I am cooking dinnerā€¦ I guess that was too subtle. You are not winning any points. Its getting annoying.

Deferred maintenance

So I parked my car in the driveway and you ā€“ my husband ā€“ didnā€™t see it when you backed your car from the garage? You have a back-up camera, you know. My car was pristine until you dinged the fender. You know all the damage to all our cars has always been your fault, right?

Iā€™m thrilled that your husband has been accepted into this new program. It sounds right up his alley and you can afford to support him and pay for it as he resets his career for the long term.
There goes my last hope for grandchildren.

Please let this house work out for them. I am so glad I am at the seller stage at this point and not the buyer stage.

UPDATE: They got the house!

Congrats on your acceptance at a HIGHLY HIGHLY selective college! But you didnā€™t think how youā€™ll pay for the COA? Oh yes you did apply several prestigious, competitive scholarships but all denied you. Hmm so you are thinking about GoFundMe now? How about taking a gap year, work, and save? At least people will see how much you saved and may decide to chip in a little.

What do you say or do (report) when a kid you know from your local high school has lied about his heritage on his applications and lied about being ā€œfirst generationā€ and parents hide actual income from overseas investments. The school counselors and their private $$ counselor are complicit. They are foreign born and wealthy - taking scholarship dollars that they actually brag to others about getting because (they explain) colleges are stupid.

I am sad for my daughter who feels like COVID has robbed her of her freedom - the ability to go wherever she wants, whenever she wants, with whomever she wants. I so get that.

Wonderful, as I spend time trying to help my daughter keep her sanity after a year of COVID, I have developed an intermittent eye tick.

You always find a way to make it about yourself, donā€™t you. We agreed on 11:00 AM, so I adjusted my morning routine to accommodate that. Then at 10:30, you texted and asked if we could make it at 1:00. So now my afternoon is in a tizzy too. I should have just told you no. You always do this.

Is there a class for delivery drivers like Amazon, UPS and FedEx that teach them where to leave packages? Are they instructed to leave them in the most undesirable places, so that the recipient might run over them getting to their garage? Or, does every driver that delivers to my area fail the class?

I have plenty of room to the side of my two car garage, yet 8 out of 10 deliveries are left right in front of the door such that I have to get out and move the package to get in. Murphyā€™s Law states that this happens on days that it is pouring out, so I have to get wet to move the package.

Note to delivery people, I know you are working against the clock to get everything delivered, but I really donā€™t think it would hold you up to move the package to the left about 5 feet.

I love you, but you need to not care what I think about your Covid habits. Iā€™m not judging you for going out to eat. And you need to not question why I am not despite being fully vaccinated. You do you, boo. Iā€™m happy with my choices, but you seem insecure in yours.

Just checked my mailbox. Not one, but two letters inquiring if we want to sell our property?! Iā€™m tired of recycling this junk mail.

Big pet peeve.

How about companies charge my credit card when they ship out the item, not when I order it.

Ordered something that is back ordered. But was charged when I ordered it. I could pay for an item, months before itā€™s actually in stock to ship.

Shame on them!

So many CC parents seem to go beyond helicoptering and snowplowing, we need a new term.

i donā€™t know why but i constantly alternate between ā€œi have pretty good stats and ecs, i will make it to collegeā€ and ā€œmy scores are so low, my ecs are so lacking, i wonā€™t even make it to a low UCā€. it stresses me out constantly esp when i check the numbers on how many people make it to UCs from our school. in 2020, only 10 people out of 100+ applicants (in a class of 550) made it to UCLA. 8 out of 75ish applicants made it to UCB. i just feel so hopeless all the time, like i wonā€™t be that 1 out of 10. and a senior this year is going to Princeton on a full ride from QB. it makes me nervous, heā€™s such a hardworking, dedicated, and intelligent person. iā€™m nowhere near his level.

I hope this new medicine will help my sweet grandnephew. He is now having seizure activity in his brain 24/7, even when he is awake. Doctors at 3 nationally known hospitals said that there is nothing more that they can do for him. Doctors at the Mayo Clinic want to try this medication. Fingers crossed, prayers lifted up, good vibes sent out. Weā€™ll know by June if itā€™s helping.
