Scared of Fordham :(

So decisions have come in and it's time for me to make a decision as to where I want to go. I got accepted at NYU but their financial aid is giving me literally NOTHING. Fordham is giving me a whopping 43,000, which is an amazing package with a work study.

I also, however, got into Stony Brook and Binghamton.
As a biology major, Stony Brook would be the ultimate option, but I really don't want to go to a state school mainly for the reason that no one outside New York really knows about the school.
Now going to Fordham would be all fine and dandy for me, had I been at the Rosehill campus.
I, however, am at Lincoln Center.

And I haven't heard a SINGLE thing good about it.
I am definitely going to be dorming, and i've heard the community there is bland, it's hard to have a social life and no person really associates with anyone outside their dorm room. I've heard the dining halls are terrible and it's not at all good for anyone in the sciences.

So now I'm scared. Very, very scared.
It feels as if Fordham LC is the only option left for me, because I really don't want to go to Stony Brook.
Anyone have any information regarding the pros/cons of LC in its present condition? (because most of the threads i read about LC were from 09-10~, not really about the present)
Thanks for the help guys :(

Call Fordham and ask if you can attend Rose Hill. They do make changes. Call immediately next week.

I agree, call Tuesday (school is closed on Monday for Easter break). Youi might well be able to switch campuses. I also have a friend who transferred from LC after one semester (she decided that she wanted a larger environment and more of a traditional campus).

The fact that you think noone outside of NY knows about Stony seems like a really silly reason to rule out school that has an excellent Science/Bio program. I don’t know a thing about the schools in the California state system but I know there are many that provide amazing educations to their students.

Not sure where you heard that LC is so scary. My daughter is loving it there. It might not be the right campus for you personally, but it’s not terrible. It’s in a wonderful location. There is a ton to do, on campus and off. My daughter has plenty of friends outside of her apt. Your suitemates usually are your first friends, but then you join clubs, meet others in your classes, and branch out.

The cafe isn’t great, they have made some changes lately that really aren’t any better, but you will have your own kitchen so you can cook whatever you want to eat, or you can go out. Plenty of places to eat close by. Since it is in the middle of a city, I wouldn’t let the not so great food scare you away.

I’ve never heard of switching. We can do that before the school year starts?
I was thinking about visiting both campuses next week and deciding after whether or not i wanted to switch.
But nonetheless, great information, I’m going to continue my research and look onto the pros and cons of both campuses, then pick.
Thanks for the help guys!

Edit: I’ve registered for tours about 2 weeks from now, back-to-back tours of both campuses. You think if i called around April 13th~ for campus change it would be able to happen?
