Scared of Junior year.

I am worried about my classes...I chose Spanish 2,AP Psych,Acc.Algebra2,and Honors Chem.
People told me that the Honors Chem.Teacher is easy.I also heard Honors Chem. is basically the same as normal chem. AP Psych is supposed to be an easy class for an AP. Acc.Algebra 2 is Algebra 1 for half of it. That's what people told me so I just took the classes cause I never had any advanced classes before. I got All A's the whole year for 10th grade and it felt too easy. I barely studied and had like 30 min of homework to no homework at all everyday. Now I'm scared for next year. I imagine me doing bad and having litteraly no more free time. My friends seemed ok and they are pretty smart but I am worried sick. I have 1 month left until school and I still have time to change classes. Will I be ok? Am I pushing my self to much?
I really don't know anymore. Please give me some honest advice. Thanks!

So you’re telling me you are afraid of easy classes? If you have had all A’s so far then you might have all -A’s this year. It’s junior year it’s supposed to be harder.

Here’s my breakdown:

AP Psych: It’s fun. Fun, like I actually enjoy this, and fun, like, holy cow, I got a 5 without taking this class!

Spanish 2: This is usually easy at public high schools due to the fact that the teacher usually is bad at teaching and/or Spanish

Algebra 2: This can get crazy or easy. The first half will usually be crazy easy, but don’t slack off around the end when you finally learn things

Honors Chem: This can get really hard, really fast. To handle this, try talking with the teacher on how to study and if you can do extra-credit.

However, I have to be honest. As someone who is seeking a challenge, you are not going to get it in this schedule. Also, not to be rude, but this really isn’t the schedule of Harvard kids. This isn’t to say that you have no hope anywhere, but I am saying that Junior year is important and I’d love to know why you are in those classes

Thanks Apollo and Yea I understand this isn’t the hardest schedule. I’m just never confident with anything, thats why I am worried. I’m always pessimistic and have anxiety issues.
I chose honors chem because I am thinking of becoming a pharmacist and science was always my strongest subject. AP Psych seems interesting and fun as you said. I guess I chose Spanish because its good for college. Thanks for the advice! I feel a little better.

Cheer up! You are only as strong as what you say!

Taking harder classes usually isn’t actually that hard. For example, the difference in difficulty in Spanish III and Spanish II will be negligible. Also, most high end teachers are willing to stay after to help you work out a plan that fits you best and they will really go the extra mile for you.

Congrats on the Honors Chem class, I know it will be very hard, at least I think it is. Pharmacology is really cool! I recommend you take AP Stats and AP Bio to also prep for that.

Lastly, what’s the deal with the languages? As far as I know, Spanish II is where decent freshman go. Also, why aren’t you doing any social studies classes?

Thanks once again and I heard the Spanish 2 teacher in my school is tough and I don’t really like history that’s why.

That’s cool if you’re looking to do what you want to do. Many CC’ers don’t have your guts.

However, I highly recommend you find a way to take higher-end classes. Can you take additional ones, online ones, etc.?

Also, is there extra credit available?

I think this is a mental thing you got to get over that classes labeled with honor or ap are not for genius nerds. Anyone can succeed in them (though the big difference is how many they can).

Your schedule isn’t that hard for junior year. It’s just your mind over thinking it.

Work hard Junior year and have fun…and I’m back to physics studying ;)

Wha…?

IMPOSSIBLE!
