Hi,
Early november, i got written up by a UCSD Police officer who pulled my and my friends over for tailgating and for having an illegal license cover. we were drinking at a party off campus, but we all had about two beers. my friend had one beer, but had enough time to sober up and be the dd. He asked us if we were drinking, and i messed up, and said no. he said that my license plate cover was illegal, and i kept saying "oh, i didnt know that was against the law." it sort of went back and forth like that. he moved on, saying that my friend was driving erratically, and that he was tailgating the guy in front of him. i was trying to defend my friend by telling the officer that the guy in front of him was driving weird and that my friend wasnt sure of what to do. the officer got upset, told me to step out of the car, and made me take a bac test. i blew a .037. this isnt my first time getting written up for alcohol and im still under academic probation. i got written up for misconduct induced by alcohol, and obstructing disciplinary process. even though i blew a .037, my actions were not motivated by alcohol whatsoever. as a friend, i was trying to defend him as best as possible so he wouldnt get a stupid ticket because of a driver who didnt know how to drive in front of him. will i get kicked out of on campus housing? what will happen? im pretty scared, so any good news would be great. btw, im in muir.

california law says you can drink on private property, even if you are underage, since you werent on campus, that is ok, so you’re good so far up until you lied to the officer, not sure what that can do lol… pray to jesus and hope he just gives you another warning

“even though i blew a .037, my actions were not motivated by alcohol whatsoever”

No great advice, but I dont think saying that will be helpful in YOUR OWN defense. I don’t think it sounds like someone who is learning from experience.
