I didn't get a financial aid decision along with my SCEA acceptance because Yale was missing a few of my forms. However, the missing forms situation has since been rectified within the first few days of January.

Will I still be able to get a financial aid decision? How long would it take for me to get a decision now that all my information is in? Should I call the financial aid office?

Thanks.

Hi Nikkor, I am pretty much in the same situation. From my correspondence with SFS, it would appear that they will give you the award estimate in two to four weeks, sooner if you are lucky. It is not their policy to email you about the issuance of an award unless you ask them to, so either ask them or just check by the end of January.

Yeah, same here as well.

Talked to an admissions officer and he said that they will get your finaid decision done “As quickly as they can once they have the forms…”

My forms should be in by about today so will email later and see what he says. I was told though that you need to check your eli account to see the amount. I assume that you could ask them to email you (they seem to be sending us enough emails!) :)

So I’m really slow to the FA boat (my dad, the person who would be doing all of this, has been unavailable for a while, and I’ve been procrastinating). That said, what all does Yale need/when?
The CSS Profile (based on '08-'09 tax returns, right?), FAFSA (based on '09-'10 tax returns that haven’t come in yet), and … ?

Vaelient, I’m pretty sure the CSS profile is also based on 2010’s tax returns. So I think they’ll understand that it may not be until mid-February, after your family has filed their taxes, that you get those in.

My son was accepted last year SCEA and we didn’t do the forms until February. No problems. Go to the yale site
[Yale University Financial Aid > Newly Admitted Students > Application Guidelines for U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents.](<a href=“Welcome | Student Financial and Administrative Services”>Welcome | Student Financial and Administrative Services)

But in general, you both FAFSA and CSS and then send your 2010 tax returns to IDOC service

I submitted my 2009 tax data in the CSS back in November so I could at least have an estimate (I know I still need to submit the 2010 tax data to get an actual award).

At any rate, I asked my local admissions officer via email; he said that he would make a call at the Financial Aid office and I got my estimate the next day (: He’s awesome!
