...or are you going to send them without knowing whether or not you're getting into Harvard?

The only other application I submitted was for the University of California (public) system because that is due tomorrow. While I have most of my essays prepared for my other applications, I will not submit them until the 15th or so, if I get deferred/rejected. If I have the opportunity to be accepted early, I will not submit any other apps, just because of the sheer cost of them (and, with Harvard as my #1 by far, it would not be worthwhile to submit other apps until I hear back that I’ve been accepted/rejected/deferred/whatever).

So, in short, I’m not turning in any other private applications until after decision day!

Yeah me too. I applied to the ones I sent my scores to (the four “free” reports) and gave me a fee waiver or are free to apply to. I’ve prepared other applications but I’m not going to send them just yet because of the cost. If I get deferred/rejected I will send them all out.

My school GC may not be available after 20th of Dec and application deadline is Jan 1st.
They ask me to submit common app first so that they can submit their part.
Your school GC has no objection on this?

I think they can submit their part before we submit the common app!

Yeah, they can submit their part as long as the college being applied to is already listed on your Common Application. My teachers/GC have already submitted their portions of all of my applications, I’m just waiting for ~15th to actually submit the apps.

I would not wait to submit, submitted all of mine already

No, I have fee waivers, so I decided not to wait. I’ve submitted 5 applied so far. I think submitting kind of brings me back to the reality that I am very likely not going to get in.

Agree with that have fee waivers Too

I’ve submitted to all 9 other colleges on my list. Harvard just isn’t the kind of school you put your hopes on and halt your application process for… It’s best to submit the Harvard app and move on with your life by applying to other institutions. It lessens the blow of a rejection/deferral and puts things in perspective.

Oh and decisions are probably going to be sent out at 5 pm on Dec. 12th, not the thirteenth because EA decisions are historically released on Thursdays and Wednesday is the last day to update your e-mail.

Prospector7, for me, it boils down to cost; while I’m able to afford the application fees (definitely not in fee-waiver territory), I don’t see a point in pressing submit until I know for sure on the 12th-15th. I’d hate to throw >$500 out the door until I’m absolutely sure I have to. I’m done with all my supplements, so it really comes down to some simple button pushes, all which can be completed a mere hour or two after I get my decision.

Aside from the money I want to have as much time as I can get to improve my applications.

I’m working on my others in the background. I submitted a few over the past few days. Even if I get accepted, I know I’m going to apply to other places to see if there’s something else out there that might appeal to me. I as might as well finish them off. =/

im doing the apps now but submitting em later when i find out harvard
's

i am. i have everything ready, and if need be, i’ll send everything out probably on the 15th! no need to waste so much money on sending scores, applications, etc

If I get rejected/deferred, I’ll definitely be reevaluating some of the schools that have offered me merit scholarships based on NMSF status.

I have everything ready, and Dec 13th will give good enough time for RD colleges to go through my application thoroughly.
