SCEA applicant's top choices

and i totally feel you guys on the fin aid issues. my dad wants me to cut down on the apps to small privates because he doesnt think i'll get enough money - but I really want to go the above posted schools.
arghhh. i guess i'll have to wait until spring to figure it out.

Yale, hands down, is my first choice.
Columbia, Stanford, and University of Chicago all tie for second.
Maybe Princeton for third.

Definitely Columbia. Followed closely by Yale.

I just could not afford to apply ED to Columbia for financial reasons. My family's expected contribution at Yale is about 1/3 as much as anywhere else, thanks to that new aid initiative they passed last year.

Yale
then Stanford, Harvard and few others

but if I get into Yale, WHOOO!!

Yale
...

...

Chicago

UMich

Michigan State

That's all I'm applying to.

I've changed my mind. Yale is no longer tied with Princeton and now Yale is way above everything else. :)

Yeah, Yale was my number 1 forever until I visited Harvard a few weeks ago. Now they're sort of tied. But then again, I think that the only reason I like Harvard so much right now is because it's new for me and has the wow-factor. If it comes down to it, I think I would choose Yale over Harvard.

DON'T GO TO THE DARK SIDE. I don't understand how anyone could be attracted to Harvard...

haha agreed. :)

ohhhh but harvard is so wonderful.

It's beautiful, the location is benevolent, and the people are so kind! But come to think of it, I think I only love it because I was able to watch Gossip Girl whilst I was there.

mk but seriously... I've also added brown to my list :(. Just in case thangs don't work out.

That may be all true, but their undergraduate institution is really not something I would want to get involved with.

Yeah, I've heard bad stories about professor dedications and priorities and with the level of competition between students. I don't know, even though Yale does also have an extensive graduate school system, I feel like it is much more devoted to its undergrads than Harvard is.

Yale, Dartmouth, Harvard for me!

:) Yippee Yale!!

mkkkk bump!

Yale

.

Okay, not ONE person mentioned Cornell!!
Why not Cornell? It's an amazing institution and is less difficult than Yale to get into.

Cornell

Yale

Williams

Everything else I'm applying to

!!
(I applied to Cornell ED but felt like perusing the Yale forum for a bit)

Because I would have to spend the rest of my life saying things like this :(.

jk jplay jk.... but wait, really.

IT IS COLD. Have you been to Ithaca?

Because New Haven is practically Miami in terms of weather.

ChandlerBing, I believe I mentioned Cornell unless it was in a different thread.

Edit: Ah yes, it was in a different thread. Cornell is still tied for my favorite (Yale being the other); if only it's financial aid were up to par w/ Yale's.
