SCEA Applicants

you can email it to me.

I'll read it for you too, if you'd like.

A swap would be nice, so maybe I should start mine...

Good news! My personal statement is finished! Done! Over with! WHOOHOOO

For the notification, they sent an e-mail saying they had received my application and that mail will be coming soon with more information on my application stuff.

Congrats to all finishing up those essays! :)
I'm getting so nervous about all of this. Everyday I realize how close it all is! Yay, tomorrow I get to go to an info session with my local rep!

Athlon, I put my SN in my profile :)

thanks so much davidrune and bebere87, ive emailed it to you.

I have seen a lot of you guys referring to December 15th as the day we will find out. Where did y'all hear this from? I have searched on the website, but all I can find is "mid-December." Who knows, I'm probably missing something!

I don't know about the rest of the people here, but I heard about the Dec. 15th date from all of the posts from last year's group of EA people on the old CC board.

same here Newt, and it was on their website last year when i was still just a young pup, dreaming of being a senior. It may be that we are confused and the letters will be mailed that monday (instead of the 15th which is a monday) or even the next monday, who knows. But the 15th was last years date, so i guess we are all just assuming .

Well, whenver it is, I hope it is sooner rather than later!

iplayoboe, I'll read your short answer. hoepfully, someone will be able to read mine after its done. I'm doing the activity essay first. I have a paragraph, and the rest sounds really bad. I've done the personal statement though. :) Davidrune, I'll check your email shortly. :) you guys are so nice! I'm so happy you aren't really ------- and competitive. heh [I dont know that you aren't, but anyway].. pretend that you aren't. this is such a cute litle SCEA family! :)

weeeeeeeee.... been reading tess of the d'urbervilles all day, what a boring book!

i'd be happy to read and critique essays if anyone wants me to.... i don't have mine done yet but i'd be more than willing to have you guys read 'em when they're complete :-P

anyways, back to Tess!

For those of you mailing your applications: On their supplement Yale sounded pretty adamant that the supplemental activity essay be limited to one sheet. Did you sacrifice double spacing your essay in favor of following this request and keeping it on only 1 sheet?? I have no idea what to do. Do you think it would be ok to attach one sheet printed on both sides double spaced??

A cute family yes... its just too bad that 90% of us are going to be completely crushed on the 15th, while a select few are going to be the happiest people alive.

My activity essay is two pages, double-spaced. I'll think you'll be fine.

thanks chidimma and athlonmj. yes, this family is much cooler than my real family. lol. i like this family, and it looks like this will be become a support group in 2 months.. i hope not

You guys are all talking about a short answer significant activity essay (150 words). Is this the one in the common app? I thought we were just supposed to skip the common app short answer and respond to it fully in the Yale supplement in a 500 word essay. So right now all I have is two 500-word essays (personal statement and expanded significant activity) and also the really short "Why Yale". Did I do something wrong? Thanks.

it says as an expansion of the Short Answer, which we are all taking to mean they want the short answer as well

Yeah, but what point is there in doing a really quick 150-word essay on an activity and then writing a full essay for the supplement that covers the exact same thing? It seems repetitive.

I'm just writing the two or three sentences like they say in the FAQ.

Awww, the SCEA family. That's so sweet. :)
