SCEA chances - come on, i know you guys are experts on this by now

<p>hey...i just wanted to know my chances at stanford - both scea, and regular.</p>

<p>indian (asian) male, senior from very competitive maryland high school (800+ senior class)</p>

<p>Academic:
-GPA 10th-11th: 3.723 UW/4.538 W
-GPA all years: 3.78 UW/4.541 W
-our school doesn't rank, but i'm in the top 10%
-SAT old: 1500 (800 m/700 v)
-SAT new: 2290 (760 m/750 v/780 w [80 mc/9 essay])
-APS: Comp Sci AB 5, Calc BC 5, Bio 4, AP Lang 4
-SAT II: 780 math IIc, 680 bio (i'm retaking in oct.), also taking physics in oct.
-classes have all been honors, except for health (one sem.), journalism, newspaper and piano
-ap courses i took: ap language, ap world history, equivalent of ap comp sci, equivalent of ap calc bc
-now in multivariable calc, ap psychology, ap physics</p>

<p>Extracurricular:
-online school newspaper (silver chips online, one of nations best) - managing editor. 11th and 12th
-other school magazine - managing editor. 11th and 12th.
-other very small school publication - co-manager. 9th - 12th.
-national honors society - chaplain. 12th
-envirothon - team captain. 9th - 12th
-web design club - webmaster. 10th - 12th
-american computer science league. 6th - 12th, went to all-stars (national) in 10th, qualified for all-stars in 9th.
-physics team - secretary. 11th, 12th </p>

<p>Awards/honors:
-maryland distinguished scholar finalist
-ap scholar with honor
-county national history day - best use of oral history
-american computer science league all-stars - high individual short-answer score
-honor roll all years</p>

<p>Other stuff:
-i did an internship at stanford u. this summer for 8 weeks in the Cell and Molecular Biomechanics lab.
-i went to stanford's epgy program and did an expository writing course there the summer before last.
-i've done a leadamerica leadership conference
-from 3rd to 10th, i was part of a religious youth group
-i've played piano for one year, and piano on the indian scale for a few years in middle school</p>

<p>oh, and i'm also applying to cornell, columbia (fu), northwestern, u. maryland - college park, and mit. i'm thinking of applying to u penn, wash u, swarthmore, brown, uc berkeley, or dartmouth</p>

<p>any other advice?
also, would my chances increase if i applied SCEA versus RD?</p>

<p>You have good chances, but it's not outstanding. If I were you I would do Upenn EA and then Stanford RD.</p>

<p>Did you do CCIS?</p>

<p>uc berkeley would be a lock for you
and it's a fantastic engineering school, if that's what you're into</p>

<p>Penn doesn't have EA. So if the OP got in, he wouldn't be able to apply to Stanford RD.</p>
