SCEA Decision Timeline

Baylor received my daughter’s ACT scores last night, so her application is now officially complete. She is applying SCEA. I know the official response timeline is a decision by December 1, but I’m curious if anyone has experience either this year or recent years with the turn around time for SCEA applications? If you could respond with a date your application was complete and a date you received a decision, I would appreciate it. I’ll also post back when she receives her decision, so people can learn from our experience.

Best I can tell, the first batch of acceptances went out third week of October.

My son also applied SCEA this year. Application completed, (including all optional items) completed on August 22nd.

Like you, I’ll updated when his acceptance comes in so we can help people gauge the timeline.

@VACODad‌ This time last year is when the first acceptances went out.

I called to check status and they told me that no decisions have been made yet, and in fact they have not started reviewing applications at all. They say they won’t start until November 1st, and that no decisions will be made before the second or third week in November.

Not sure if that is 100% accurate or not, but that is what the admissions office told me a few minutes ago.

@CATDECAL‌ I appreciate the update. Is your son applying to any of the Honors College programs? If so, has he completed that part of the application process, yet?

We are headed to the I2E program next week and he will talk to them about the Business Fellows program, but as of now he has not applied for any of the Honors programs. I’m not sure he will. Whatever path he takes, I’m very happy with though!

Have you heard about acceptance yet? Son received his acceptance in early November for BU.

Sorry for not posting in this thread, but there were two threads going around the same time on acceptance timelines. It took about two weeks for the acceptance process for my daughter’s SCEA application that was completed in early October. In addition, if you are applying for any of the Honors College programs, those all seem to go pretty quickly, as well. My daughter has heard back from all programs already.
