Class of 2019. Who else is applying SCEA?

My son has selected Baylor as his first choice, so he went ahead and applied Single Choice, Early Action.

As of today he mailed off his high school transcript, and that marks the completion of his full application, including all optional items.

His GPA was good but not excellent, (More Bs than As and a pair of Cs) however his ACT score of 33 has garnered him the attention of may top level schools, including several in the top ten. His GPA would make the most elite schools that have contacted him a long shot, but he enjoyed getting the attention from them just the same.

Hopefully all will go as he hopes and he’ll be getting his acceptance letter sooner rather than later.

Anyone else applying SCEA?

Good luck to your son! Baylor is a really nice school

My daughter is also applying SCEA. She has completed all of her required and optional items with the exception of the standardized testing. She is waiting for the September ACT test in three weeks to see if her score bumps up at all before submitting them.

@VACODad‌ One thing to keep in mind, (that you probably already know) is that Baylor “SuperScores” your ACT, so be sure they have all relevant test scores needed to pull off the highest SuperScore.

Thanks. We were aware of that. She isn’t worried about scores to get in, but wants to be done with the testing for merit aid purposes when she submits them. She’s a half a point from another cutoff in the merit aid categories.

@VACODad‌ Gotcha!

Funny aside, before my son’s last ACT, he wasn’t feeling well and wasn’t confident at all, so I suggested he NOT mail scores to anyone by default. We’d just wait and see what happened, then pay to send at that point.

That ended up being his best by far.

Go figure.
