Schedule Dilemma

Which science sequence would be best?

9th grade: Honors Chemistry
10th grade: Honors Physics
11th grade: AP Chem
12th grade AP Bio

or

9th grade: Honors Chem
10th grade: AP Bio
11th grade: AP Chem
12th grade: AP Physics C (with no physics background)

I feel as if the first option is a better sequence in terms of the levels of difficulty; however, if I take AP Bio in 12th grade, universities will not be able to see my AP Bio exam score, whereas I do not care if my AP Physics score is not seen. However, taking AP Physics C with no physics background does not seem feasible.

Also, how many AP courses should be taken in 10th grade?

Thank you

Neither of those are ideal, as you’re missing prerequisites with both. Ideally, you’d take Honors Chem, Bio, and Physics, and then the AP versions of one or more. Would this be possible?
9: Honors Chem
10: AP Chem and Honors Bio
11: AP Bio and Honors Physics/AP Physics 1
12: AP Physics C

@awesomepolyglot I have already taken honors chem and honors bio

also, AP Physics 1 is not offered at my school

What grade are you in and what high school science and math classes have you taken?

@awesomepolyglot , I am in 9th grade and I have taken Honors Geometry, Honors Algebra I, and Honors Intermediate Algebra, so I will be taking Precalc/Trig next year. I am currently taking Bio and Chem. I am choosing my 10th grade classes, and am deciding between Honors Physics (in which case my AP Bio score wouldn’t be seen by colleges, which is unfortunate) and AP Bio. Thanks!

Would it be possible to take both? And btw, the common wisdom on here is that colleges don’t care about AP scores unless you got a score of 1 on everything.

If you plan to attend a college, your AP scores will have to be sent in. You could choose to report every score or you could omit some. However, many would agree that omitting some scores would look suspicious to colleges without a good reason. You would have to send in an updated report of your senior-year AP scores anyways. Colleges will see them after you are admitted, though. I do not believe that they would rescind you because of a bad AP score.

You don’t have to do anything. If a college does not give credit for a certain test, for instance, there is no need to send a score.

Not a big deal.

Anyway, I would not suggest taking Physics C without an intro physics class, so I’d take Honors Physics, and then if you really want to, double up on sciences your junior or senior year.

You don’t have to send your AP score. AP scores are useful to you, IF you choose to take the credit. College admissions care about the academic rigor taking an AP class implies.
Physics C requires an intro physics class (it’s level 2 of physics).
Your proposed schedule 1 seems the best as it covers all three of bio, chem, physics, and since you’ve already taken Honors Bio and Honors Chem, taking Honors Physics in the 10th grade, then one science AP each subsequent year, would be best.
