My current plan is to go with this schedule.

CS61B
Physics 7B
Math 53
an American Cultures class that I have yet to decide that I will probably take P/NP to make things easier

This would total to 16 units, which is pretty doable, but these classes are pretty time-consuming.
Now I'm trying to decide whether I should also:
Work
Add a couple more units for fun/to get ahead
Do Both of the Above
Just stay with the 16 unit plan.

Any advice?

Your questions could be better answered if you explained how you did in CS61A/Physics7A.

CS61B will be time consuming with Hilfinger no doubt. Math 53 will be easy with Auroux. I have no experience with Physics 7B. Overall, I don’t think you need to take another class unless you want to. Working is always good though

I did fairly well in CS61A and Physics 7A when I took them together. Not spectacular though.

I would say if you can find a decently meaningful job or need money, then you can definitely fit in work + school. You can probably fit in work + school + a few more units depending on what you take and what other commitments you have. If you don’t have any other activities, then yeah, a few more units should be fine.

Is Hilfinger really that bad? I can actually take CS 47B instead of CS 61B but I’ve been considering CS 61B since it has already been a year since I took the data structures course at my CC. I also have no experience in Java. I know people keep saying that C++ and Java are almost the same but I am not too confident about taking CS 47B after going through it online…
