So I’ve heard that it isn’t advised to take chem and math at the same time- much less first quarter. However, during pass 1, my orientation leader signed me up for both… Here’s my schedule-- it kind of sucks. Are workload classes difficult/ require more/less work? And how are the professors?

MAT 16A w/ Temple
WLD Chem
WLD Writing
GEL 25-national parks w/ Osleger
SAS 98- group study w/ Rizzo

PS. do classes generally start/end on time? I have a 10-min passing period between my classes (Soc Sci to Geidt, and Wellman to Hutchinson)

Taking Chemistry and Math is fine. Especially the 16 series with workload. I don’t know much about workload classes, but I believe they focus more on homework than on test scores (although test scored are important, too.) I personally think they’re kind of a waste of time, but then again I’ve never taken one.

Classes usually end and start on time. 10 minutes should be enough time if you have a bike. If not, you might want to leave 5-10 minutes early.

My friends who have had Osleger say he was really good. I don’t know about the other profs.

Thanks so much! I’m kind of nervous because on rate-my-professor, Temple doesn’t seem like a favorite… and i hear the social sciences building is hard to find

Actually, the social sciences building (aka the Death Star) is really easy to find–it’s the large building right across from the Memorial Union. It’s finding your classroom within the social sciences building that’s the hard part.

It’s kind of hard to explain why it’s so hard to find classes in the Death Star… yeah, doors are locked, rooms are poorly labeled, maps are confusing. You’ll see. Arrive early!

@sfgirl23 hey, i was looking around at the posts about uc davis (since im going to be a freshman here ) and i saw your post, well anyways, i found your post and realized something crazy, we have the same classes!!! (well just three but still thats a crazy coincidence)
