Hey! Thanks for sharing about the “hidden” classes. We changed the times for my son’s schedule and found that he has an English writing class on MW from
6:10-8:00pm. His Wednesday is now from 8:10am-8:00pm with only a 1 hour break in the morning and one early afternoon. he goes from a 2 hour Econ class directly to a 2 hour english class. No time for dinner! That will be a rough day. I hope he can change the Econ class. This gives him 15 units. He only has 1 hour of school from 8:10-9:00am on TThand F. They packed it all on M and W. Crazy!

Still no class schedule here.

Hopefully, at SOAR he may be able to move things around so he can have a better balance.

I just spoke to the Registrar’s office asking about the registration fee. They had said it would be up on the portal on July 26th. My daughter’s had a balance of 0. Anyway, she told me that they don’t put it up until after the class schedule is up. They’re still in the process of making up schedules. I had mentioned that my daughter’s isn’t there yet, but that other students had seen theirs. She said they aren’t supposed to be seeing them yet because they’re not complete and she would mention this to whomever is responsible. Again, she said that students *aren’t *supposed to be seeing them now. (She sounded a bit frustrated.) Well, at least I know why the registration fee isn’t up yet.

Yes, that makes sense. I am sure they didn’t expect students to be looking around for their schedule so soon. My son and I wouldn’t have unless we saw it here and got the way to do it. I told my son that this schedule was tenative and could change before SOAR next Monday.

It does say that he owes $2000 plus change and that apyments begin July 26th until Aug.24th. I am sure there will be e-mails about it too.

^^ I’m glad that the fee isn’t due until they have the classes scheduled. At one place they said it was DUE on July 26th. Others said it would be UP on the portal on the 26th. My daughter was a bit concerned, thinking it needed to be paid TODAY, and yet, we don’t see it there to PAY. <—?? So, the call to the registrar’s office solved the questions.

We just checked my son’s portal and his schedule has already changed! Now he doesn’t start classes until 12:10 on Mon. 1:10 on TThF and 8:10 on Wednesday. They changed the time he goes to his Calc 143 class. It looks like they added a new section.

Seems like schedules may be changing many times before SOAR.

momofmv same here! they got rid of the precalculus class and so far they haven’t replaced it with anything but I’m hoping i’ll eventually be placed in the right class :)

I had mentioned to the woman in the registrar’s office that some students had noticed that their schedules weren’t “quite right”. She sighed and just said that they’re still in the process of making up the schedules and this is why students *shouldn’t *be seeing them yet. I wonder with the budget cuts if they’re giving this office a larger work load (for less employees.)

Glad they are on the right track Waitingfornow. It’s still fun seeing what they are getting. My son likes the changes they made to his schedule. He can sleep in a little!

I wonder how many students actually have their schedules appearing. I guess I shouldn’t be concerned that my daughter’s isn’t anywhere to be seen? It just says she’s not enrolled in any classes and that the term hasn’t been activated. Does anyone else get this message?

Does it have anything to do with when she is attending SOAR? Or perhaps by major?
I know you and your daughter are anxious/excited to see what is being planned for you.

^^ I’m not sure! She attends SOAR on August 10. She’s in the college of Science and Mathematics–Kinesiology. Well, she’ll find out soon enough! :)

My DD is a kinesiology major and I found her schedule under grades or go to enrollment and click on weekly schedule.

2leashes, My S’s portal also says that classes are being generated and that he is not officially enrolled in classes, but if you go to the student center and click “enrollment” tab to left, scroll down to “my weekly schedule” it has a schedule there for him. I am assuming that this could be changed and that it is not final. He found it just by searching around the student center. If it is not there I would assume that they haven’t gotten to that major yet. My S is in general engineering.

To “thebeach”—I’ve clicked on everything. No class schedule. It says she is not enrolled in any classes. Hmmm…and she’s a Kinesiology major like your daughter.

ss1202: See above reply. Well, as long as she’s not the only student without a class schedule! :)

D is a business major. Found a schedule which shows her taking 2 psych classes and only 12 units total. I hope this is a work in progress - she will be calling CP later this afternoon to try and get some clarification.

My son is still only signed up for 10 units. I am hoping they add some more units before he attends SOAR so he doesn’t have to fight for the min. number of units his first semester. I think they are supposed to be pre-registered for at least 12 units. They can add more if they want after SOAR. That’s the way it was explained to me anyway. And his portal still indicates they are working on his schedule, so we will just sit tight for now.

I wouldn’t be so concerned to be freaking out. Your official schedule isn’t even up, it’s in the “grades” section.

HI CalMom05! Be sure that you changed the times to a larger range and refresh the calendar. My son had a n english class from 6:00-8:00 and it didn’t show until we made the time range go until 8:00 pm. We know that this is a work in progress…but it is still fun to see the schedules starting to be made.
