^yes you can add the lec during add/drop. the system will probably drop your refc for you if you don’t get into the corresponding lec soon.

For two languages it really depends on your background and abilities. If you were say in upper level Spanish and wanted to start Italian it probably would be an easy transition. If you were taking upper level chinese and wanted to take intro arabic it would be pretty tough.

booya I got my entire requested schedule with my writing seminar. Didn’t even need my backup courses!

Then again, I was pre-registered for finance 103, management and management’s recitation so I was only really requesting math 114, Russian 360 (10-12 kids / class strait from professor’s mouth) and WRIT so the chances of my success were pretty high :P

So to anyone who is scared they won’t get the courses they want, don’t worry. If a course is closed, just figure out where it meets and go to the very first class. If you like it, talk to the professor and they will usually just give you the permit right then and there.

Secondly, stop freaking the hell out about only having three courses or missing a lecture or not getting any top choices! Add/Drop is a shopping period, and switching classes takes less than 15 seconds (literally). My current schedule for next semester looks literally NOTHING like my original schedule… I don’t have a single class that I signed up for at Advanced Registration… and my interests have changed over the summer so I’m switching again.

The short of it is, regardless of what happens, don’t worry. You can get what you want at Penn when it comes to classes.

P.S. If anyone wants HIST168, PM me and I’ll coordinate with you when I drop it to pick up GRMN378… it’s closed right now but obviously if I drop, someone else can add.

Ha, I’m in Hist 168, it looks great. If anyone has a 12-1 Span 140 they’re dropping, please p.m. me so I can add it right at the right time. Also, if that does happen, I can give up the same for a nine o’clock Span 140.

^which chem lecture did you sign up for and what school are you in? I had the same issue freshman year, but was a SAS student who applied for the SEAS section.
