Scheduling Advice

Alright...I'm a junior in high school and am taking AP Chemistry (think I got a 4 if not a 5).

Here's are the definites in my schedule next year:

AP Calculus AB
AP Computer Science A
AP English
AP Physics C: Mechanics
Probability & Statistics

I have 2 more slots left...here are my choices:
AP Biology
AP US History
AP European History
AP Macroeconomics
AP Microeconomics

Prob & Stats - My sisters said to take this class even though its not AP b/c my school will probably still let me take the AP exam & its a great asset when I have a job.

AP Bio - I didn't learn anything in Biology I...and have no clue what Biology is except for the Chemistry aspect. My sisters all got 5's on the AP exam & they could definetly help me out in this class - if I asked. I kind of hate Bio, but I'm good with memorization.

AP US History - I took US 1 in 8th and 10th grade and am taking US 2 this year. I did well in all of those classes. I wanted to self study for this exam this year, but my school wouldn't let me do that. Also, if I need any help with this - my sister is an History major.

AP Euro History - It seems like an interstesting topic...I think it would go great if I took this with AP US. I think this class will probably make me a more "intellectual" person - history is used a lot in intelligent conversations. Also, if I need any help with this - my sister is an History major.

AP Macro/Micro - I would have to do independent study - or I have a free period and go to a empty room with a teacher & basically teach myself the material - I schedule my own tests and basically I am the teacher (except I don't create the tests and do the actually final grade - I can choose the grading system). Also, if I need any help with this - my sister is an Economics major.

Which classes would you recommend I take? I don't want to kill myself senior year, but I still want to take a lot of AP classes to make up for the 1 I'm allowed to take this year.

What are your suggestions and thoughts?

Thanks.

If you're sort of lost on Bio def take AP Bio.

APUS would be good, or you could do Macro/Micro self-study...choosing your own class structure would be cool

I vote for:

AP Bio

AP Macro/Micro

since you already have a decent background in APUS. I don't see why you couldn't just read the US text and take the exam...that's silly.

I'd go with APUSH or APeuro..take a break from all the math/science. Plus your schedule will be more well-rounded.

pft, who needs humanities.

haha i'd rather die than take 4 math/sci classes. my goal in life is to never take calculus :)

Is AP Macro/Micro a one year class? Or do you have to have 2 periods for both? How does that work?

leah: I'm pretty good with math and science...but I do like the humanities...it provides a great way to relax your mind - but at the same time keep it working (if you get what I mean).

Also, I'm always up for a challenge...I don't mind killing myself with hard classes....I'll find some sort of way to manage. I don't have to take all the AP exams.

yeah--if it's your thing, go for it. but there's nothing wrong with an AP class in the humanities to lighten your load a little and balance out your schedule.

I didn't say I want to take all math and science. I meant that I don't mind taking either...it all works for me.

I'm probably going to put AP US as one of the classes. The second one - I haven't figured out yet.

How about not taking another AP. There's a distinct lack of foreign language in your schedule, how about take another one? Take something to expand your mind, like philosophy or theory of knowledge if they are offered. All those APs are really not worth it.

I'm in Spanish IV right now...that's the highest my school has....there aren't any philosophy or theory of knowledge classes.

Ap US or Ap Euro
Ap Bio

I would choose Ap European History/AP USH and AP Bio.

I really haven't done APs, I'm an IBer. But if AP macro/micro is anything like IB Econ. HL, definitely take it. I've never taken a more rewarding class than my econ course. Its amazing, The stuff you learn there is so useful, even for other courses.

Theory of Knowledge, augh, I hate that class. Thank god I'm almost done with it. I've already finished my essay, which I wrote the night before our final draft was due ( the teacher wanted them a long time before the actual date) and I got a predicted score of 37 yay. Go procrastination!!

^^You know your predicted score...I have no idea. I don't know how I did on EE, IAs, or anything like that.

I've never heard of "Theory of Knowledge."
