I’m trying to schedule my classes for the fall semester and I’m running into some trouble. My french class will meet MTWR. There are a few different times that could work, but I don’t know how well they’d work out. I’d have one class from 11:10-12:25 then the French class (about a 10 minute walk away) at 12:45. I feel like there might not be enough time in between since there’s a 10 minute walk? There’s also a french class from 5:10-6:00, but I feel like that’s kind of late to have everyday. I’ve never had a class that late before so I don’t know. However, it doesn’t interfere with anything else in my schedule. Any help/advice?
You might want to do clubs/sports/study/socialize later in the afternoon. I’d take the earlier class. You’ve got 20 minutes, which should make the 10 minute walk an easy transition with time for a couple minutes before/after the two classes. You might consider bringing a snack with you if your other classes will make it difficult to eat lunch on those days.
Would you be willing to put aside one class for next semester? I think this would work if the classes aren’t prerequisites for any future classes in the following semesters.
I’ve tried switching out classes, but those don’t work well either
There is 20 minutes between classes with a distance of a 10 minute walk, so that should be fine. My college has only 10 minutes between classes (although there are few buildings more than 10 minutes apart). Back to back classes are common and sometimes preferable to trying to fill a 60-90 minute block with studying or something.
Yes, I preferred back-to-back classes, also, and I went to school at UT-Austin, which has a huge campus.
In college, everyone is late to class. I had back to back classes and was always five minutes late to my classes. If you choose those class options, just be sure to let the professor know within the first week that you may be a few minutes late due to your previous class, just so they know it’s not that you don’t care about being late for their class.
