So I'm currently a Junior (9 periods a day with Lunch and Study Hall) with the following schedule:

AP Calc AB

Spanish IV

AP Chem (double period)

Law Honors/PE*

English III Honors

APUSH

Now at our school we select our next years schedule after the 1st semester final. But today I read about some new classes offered next year and figured I'd ask now and give the forum time as to what classes I should apply for.

Previously Planned Schedule:

AP Calc BC

AP Psychology

Physics Honors

PE/Economics Honors*

AP Literature

AP Stats

AP Government

Open

Lunch

I kind of wanted a open but I'm willing to give it up. I'm questioning whether I should take some of the new APs at our school (World History and Economics) or Spanish V Honors (Can't take AP). I could even take a freshman study hall in the Peer Leadership Program where I'd have to give presentations every week. Just make your suggestions.

Possible New Schedule:

AP Calc BC

AP Psychology

AP World History? or Spanish V Honors? or Peer Leadership?

PE

AP Literature

AP Stats

AP Government

AP Economics?

Lunch

*PE is required unless you get exempt from it with a varsity sport, which I play football. I also play lacrosse but that is still a 'club' sport at our school so it doesn't qualify for the 2nd semester.

SO WHAT DO WE THINK?

Anyone have any comments or suggestions after going through the college process?

Just take out the AP you aren’t that interested in and add in a study hall. Personally, I’d take out AP Stats or AP Psych and have a study hall or open period or whatever with Spanish in there.

So you saying

AP Calc BC

Study Hall

AP World History

PE

AP Literature

AP Stats

AP Government

AP Economics?

Lunch

OR

AP Calc BC

AP Psychology

Peer Leadership?

PE

AP Literature

AP Stats

AP Government

AP Economics?

Lunch

The first one you just listed. You’re going to want the study hall/open period senior year.

I personally think if you can handle it, you should go for the 2nd schedule. I would take spanish because 5 years of a foreign language is very good for college. However, it’s better to get A’s in less Ap’s then B’-C’s in more, and I don’t personally know you. It is all about what you think you can handle.

Hmmm…I see for your revised schedule you won’t be taking a science. If your going to be applying to top-tier colleges (and possibly interested in a STEM major) then you should REALLY take four years of science. So, I’d recommend:

AP Calc BC

AP Psychology

Spanish V Honors (Four years of a foreign language also looks good on college apps.)

PE/Economics Honors

AP Lit

AP Stats

AP Government

Physics Honors

Lunch

Thank you for all your suggestons.

Now I would like for detailed reasons for taking the following classes.

-AP Psychology
-Spanish V (Not AP so is it worth it?)
-AP Macroeconomics
-Physics Honors
-AP World History (all but ruled this one out)
