Okay, so right now I'm in Trinity but I'm not sure what I'm going to major in, or even where my interests lie. I am also interested in engineering and possibly switching to Pratt sophomore year. So, I have two possible schedules and I have the first window. Any advice would be great!

Schedule 1: Chem 23 (Acc. Gen Chem), Math 32 (Calc II), Writing 20 (Monster in Lit), Psy 11 (Intro)

i recommend schedule 2 because it is the standard engineering first semester curriculum, and it is easier to catch up in trinity than it is in pratt.

Well, no matter what you do, if you're trying out Psych because it's a potential major interest, than Psy 11 is absolutely a waste of your time. It doesn't count towards the major, so it'll be a waste of a class no matter what. The only thing it's really good for is that I heard it's not really all that hard, so it may be a nice reprieve if your other classes are really tough for you. If you decide not to take EGR and explore the Psych path, make your life a little easier and take PSY 91, 92, 97, or 99. I would recommend starting off with 97 or 99 (from what I've heard, and my experience with 91 & 97, I think they're the easiest ones. 99 is probably the most interesting, 97 was sorta interesting but really easy, 91 has a very true reputation of being the toughest, and I don't know much about 92). You'll get a taste of Psychology and if you do decide to major in it, it will actually count for something.

For me personally, I would probably take EGR53R.1 on Tuesdays instead of .7 on Thursdays; that way there is a break between recitation and lab (Chem, in this case) for lunch, and you don't have over 4 hours of EGR on the same day...

Why are the images of your schedule so miniscule??? That is REALLY annoying me! You DEFINITELY need to go with schedule 2! If you want to be an engineer, then you have to do that so that you are essentially following the freshmen engineering curriculum! If you dont, you could fall behind (it is SOOO hard to catch up I would know, I transferred from Trinity to Pratt after my second year, and now I will have to be at Duke for 5 and a half years to fulfill the graduation requirements for the biomedical engineering degree). You wouldnt want to have to spend extra time there, costing you a crappload of extra money. The sole positive side to that: you get to stay for an extended amount of time which allows you to get drunk and party for even longer!!!

The psych schedule seems a little bit more reasonable without so many late afternoons (unless you prefer that), but I don't know anything about Pratt and what you might need to take if you want to transfer.

Like one of the above posters said, if you are possibly interested in psych is a major/minor, you should avoid psych 11. I only took 92 so far and found it very interesting, but my professor (Cabeza) usually teaches it in the spring. The workload was moderate, but you can do very well if you put in enough time.

If you want to be in engineering, you CANNOT do the psych. You WILL fall so far behind if you do not follow the engineering schedule. Come on now, you're going to Duke - use your head!!!

I am trying to help the kid! I do NOT want anyone else to make the same mistake I did. It was SOOO bad. Staying the extra time is such a HUGE waste of money. Yeah-sure I have been having a good time partying it up, but its not worth the extra cash. JD@WashU (wait, are you even going to Duke?!?) - don't follow my past, not worth the extra $$$$. Sorry if I offended anyone for trying to help him/her out...sheesh...

hahaha i think its the use of capitals that is so alarming to internet readers. btw, how are you here for 5 1/2 years? I've never heard of anyone doing that. That's a ton o'cash

I need to stay to meet the graduation requirements for engineering...I started out as a history major in Trinity...BIG MISTAKE. Missed out on the required courses for engineering, so I need to stay the extra time. he/she had better be careful...my mistake was a VERY costly one. Be careful you Wash U student (CHANGE YOUR NAME!!!!).
