Scheduling Question: 4th Year of Spanish vs. AP Euro

<p>I plan on applying to Notre Dame in the fall (I'm a competitive applicant but not a slam-dunk to get in). Right now I'm signed up to take Accelerated Spanish IV. However, I really do not enjoy the subject, nor am I very prolific in speaking the language. I was able to get A's the past few years because the teacher was on the easy side, but the teacher for Spanish IV is "muy dificil." </p>

<p>I don't plan on majoring in history, but I like it more than Spanish and the AP Euro teacher is very good. </p>

<p>Furthermore, I only took one AP test as a junior, and am taking four as a senior (not counting Euro).</p>

<p>I know ND only requires two years of foreign language but I fear that they are really looking for four. Thanks in advance to any advice.</p>

<p>If they say you need two, that means you need two. They don't just lie to people and then cackle menacingly when people remain oblivious to their wicked plans. If you don't have competency in a language, you're gonna have to take it at ND, anyway. And there are plenty of 101 level language classes, including fun, different ones, like Irish, Arabic, German, Russian, Chinese and Japanese. So yea.</p>

<p>Anyway, an AP class looks better than a non-AP class. And based on what you're saying, it seems like a fairly easy decision. Also, if you end up with a 3 or better, it'll get you out of a requirement.</p>
