schedulizer.com

Hi. I'm new. Anyway, I don't know if people are still creating their schedules, but if so, they should most definitly be using schedulizer(.com). Its a cool site, I finished my schedule in less than 5 minutes, and if any of my planned classes are full, its quite easy to change. There is a charge of $2 this semester, but its worth it. Anyways, thats my two cents, I figured I would give everyone a heads up on an easy way to create ones schedule.

dzarzar was better, too bad it no longer works. so this $2 is not worth it. i just used my advisors, coursebook/roster, and excel for free.

whats dzarzar? i'm a sophmore and i haven't heard of it. and why is it better?

What do these sites do? I have a lot of experience in PHP and MySQL programming and I might end up writing a program similar to what these do but not charge for it. Do they just print out your schedule for you, or do they have a database they reference or something? Do they optimize your schedule for you? Thanks

CompMan86, somebody I know is already developing a free and open source alternative...

Well what does it do?

What it does is it allows you to type in the names/numbers of the courses you want and then it searches a database for the possible times and days for these classes. Then it combines your classes to give you a selection of non-conflicting schedules to choose froms which can be sorted based on factors like late-starting classes, lunch period, no classes on friday, etc.

dzarzar was so much better -- we could say, I only want a class on TR ONLY after 11:15AM and it'll give you a list of ALL the classes, plus i think you could even search for different Distribution reqs (like CA @#, etc) I was able to use it and not have any classes on thursday one semester.

Is it worth it to pay to use such a program? (Probably my dumbest question ever on here, but I was just wondering about usefulness.)

you can pick classes by times on schedulizer also, and theres also another option in which you can ask for the schedule with the fewest classes on a certain day. and dzarzar didnt have any distribution requirement options, although that would be quite cool.

and this semester was the only time people were asked to pay for schedulizer. it was only for this semester, the guy said he was not going to charge in the future.

where can we get shedulizer and dzarzar

i recommend cutimekeeper.com

this is my schedule from it...but it looks to be a little similar to dzarzar...
