Scholar Initium sessions vs. Admitted Students Day?

Hello. I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on the better session to attend - Scholar Initium session or a New Dawg Info session. We are in N. California so can only attend one, and the best date for us to attend is probably a New Dawg Info Session. We haven't been on an official tour of the campus yet (just a quick drive by).

Any thoughts on what might be the better tour for an out of state student trying to get the best picture of UGA would be much appreciated!

Sorry for the late reply. My son says to pick the Scholar Initium. You get to shadow a student for half a day while your parents attend meetings. https://www.admissions.uga.edu/article/scholar-initium-agenda.html

Thank you, helpfulandtrying. We did sign up for the Scholar Initium on 1/31. I’ll be sure to write up a report when we get back. Can’t wait!

Do you have any advice for what would be most beneficial for a student who would not be attending with a parent? Would the Scholar Initium still be the best choice even if I wasn’t able to get all of the information that parents would hear in the meetings?

We attended the Scholar Initium session, and I think it is fine to attend without a parent. In fact, the students go on their own tour of the campus with a current UGA student, eat lunch with them, go to class, etc. I sat through the parent portion of the event - it was only about 1.5 hours, and was a lot of the info you can get from the website. I also attended the parent-only campus tour because I had not done that before. The parents might sit around for a long time waiting for the students to finish their events.
