I know most Regents’ and Chancellor’s Scholarships will come out of the people who go to Scholar’s Day… but does that mean that you have to go in order to qualify or does it simply mean that if you were invited to go you have a very high probability of being a candidate for the Regents Scholarship

and while i'm at it... I might as well ask...
if you got a phone call from a UCSD student asking if your going to Scholar's Day does that mean your special or do they do that for everyone?

Ya im curious about what is actually going to happen at this thing, will they notify scholarship recipients there or tell us about being possible candidates or what?

same question here

You are not disqualified from Regent's or Chancellor's if you do not attend Scholars Day. Attending does not increase your chances.

A phone call MIGHT indicate that you are one of the most desirable candidates, but I'm guessing they try to call most everyone on the Scholars Day list.

Scholars Day invitees are told at the luncheon that they will be offered admission to the University (and, logically, their intended major), however there are no announcements regarding individual scholarship awards, or candidacy for scholarships.

The formal admission letter will offer and provide details of any Scholarship awarded.

All the above is all based on the past few years. It's possible that this year will be different.

In general, UCSD seems to make decisions "by the numbers". Those with lots of high APs scores, GPAs in the mid to high 4's and SAT composites of 2200 and above will receive most of the Regents Scholarships.

Best of luck.

Thanks for the info!

So we gotta wait till our letters come :( Hopefully this year will be different haha
