what is this event? does it have any connections to admissions? has it anything to do with regents?

im trying not to get any hopes up because im oos (TN), but am i just making things up when i think that ucsd is trying to actively recruit me with this invitation?

i have heard that there is a very good chance of getting accepted if you get this. i sure hope this is true, because i am also OOS (texas), and i'm making arrangements to fly there during my spring break for this.

i don't think it has anything to do with the regents scholarship though.

If you have been invited to Scholar's Day, you will be admitted 100% for sure. Nearly all Regents and Chancellors will come out of the Scholars Day universe, but the Regents/Chancellor winners will be a very small percentage of the Scholars Day total.

Lol, I got some Scholar's Day Invite email telling me about some correction they made to the calendar, but I never received anything in the mail. I wonder if they sent this to me by accident? I was not invited to be a Regents scholar here (though I was at UCLA).

I just got a call from UCSD. Scholar's Day is apparently ONLY for the top 277 applicants, so I'd venture out a guess and say if you got invited, you're in.

I'm not sure whether or not I should go to Scholar's Day. UCSD is pretty far down on my list of colleges that I want to go to, so I'm not sure if it's worth it to skip school for a day to listen to speeches by a bunch of administrators. But the fact that they were selective in their invitations makes me think that I would be wasting my invitation if I don't go. Any idea if Scholar's Day is really worth attending or not?

Yup sounds good. I just got a phone call tonight inviting me, but I never got the original invitation in the mail, so it mustve been lost somewhere along the line.

bleh. i'm giving up 3 days of my break for this. last minute plane tickets suck. i can't find any that will let me fly in and leave the same day.
