Scholars Day

I heard Monday that Scholars Day invitations were supposed to go out "later this week". If anybody gets one, please post so we know they've been sent.

HoComom, where did you hear that? Did you talk to someone in admissions??

Yes. I emailed to ask the question, because I was wondering if scholarships were still a possibility.

I got an offer of admission and an invitation to Scholars Day today! I applied RD and am a finalist for the Buntrock scholarship, I so excite! :D!

dpattzlover, what are your stats? (If you don't want to say, that is completely fine.) I am waiting for a letter and I'm really nervous! :-/

I'm from Stillwater (suburb of St. Paul) and go to a college prep school. 3.85 GPA and 2150 SAT. I'm Native American, if that really matters.....quite involved with my tribe. I'm so happy, I thought the envelope was just another brochure, but it was an acceptance! I thought we wouldn't hear anything until late March! Anyway, good luck, hopefully you'll get one as well! It's a very cute little folder, if you're wondering.

And, if people re wondering, my dad looked at a StO brochure and it says that last year 1600 applied for Buntrock and 150 finalists were selected. Of those 150, 114 were awarded the scholarship, which is 76%, so, basically, if you're a finalist, you have a wonderful chance! Good luck to all!

Soccer, to what other schools are you applying? Good luck again!

I also received my invitation to Scholars Day today. Unfortunately, I will be on tour with my high school choir at that time. Does anyone know if they provide an alternate process? St. Olaf is my first choice school and I would hate to miss out because of this.

I'd contact your admissions officer as soon as possible!

Pattz, congrats on your letter! Do you go to St. Croix by chance? STO is my number one so I've really got my fingers crossed for a scholarship. As for my other schools, I applied to Claremont, Scripps, Occidental in Cali and Swarthmore (PA). What about you?

No, Mounds Park Academy. Are you talking about St. Croix Lutheran? They're in our conference.....Anyway, my top is Stanford, I would be absolutley thrilled to get in there and will hear back in late March....my other top is WashU and then probably St. Olaf and my other schools....I got into Madison which I'm really happy about and am actually up for a full tuition scholarship there, which is exciting! I'm so nervous right now! haha. :) Good luck, tell us if you get the letter on Tuesday!

Congratulations to the two of you with Buntrock nominations, and thanks for posting. We live on the east coast, so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that my D will get an invitation in the mail.

HoComom: The letter is dated February 13th (and I got it Saturday, I live about an hour away from Olaf, lol), so you have a great chance of getting it tomorrow or sometime this week! Post if you get it and good luck to your D!

Also, thanks! I am just thankful that I didn't run into this thread before getting the package, I would have been a worried mess! It was a wonderful prize, to say the least!

My daughter got her Scholars Day letter in the mail today.

Got my letter today!! I was a mess of nerves the whole afternoon, and it didn't help that the mail was late because of snowstorms... See you all in March and congratulations! :)

Hi everyone! (First post, woo hoo!) I also got my acceptance/Buntrock letter today. Look forward to meeting you in March.

Got my acceptance/Buntrock letter today as well... I guess my double legacy might have helped me a little, haha
Congrats to everyone else who got in early; I also look forward to meeting you all!

Hello everyone. I got my acceptance/buntrock letter today which is excellant because now I don't have to worry about having a college to attend! Does anyone know if they can help pay for the trip to Northfield (I live all the way in Phoenix) for scholars weekend?

How odd would that be. Someone from the warmest city in the states going to one of the coldest...

so did everyone get their buntrock letter with their acceptance? cuz if so im in but, no scholarship. oh well. by the way do only buntrock scholar finalists get to go to the weekend in march?

My daughter applied RD, so she got her Buntrock letter at the same time as her acceptance. I think most RD letters haven't gone out yet - only those for kids that were getting Buntrock invitations. She got two separate envelopes, I think sent one day apart. However, even if you didn't get a Buntrock invite, there are still other scholarships. From what I understand there are both Presidential ($8500) and St. Olaf ($5000) scholarships that go to students that don't get Buntrock invites. (I asked Admissions that question.)

I grabbed my daughter's Buntrock letter to take in the car with me, because I needed the Admissions counselor contact info to call and ask a question. I seem to have mislaid the letter. Could someone who got the letter please PM me and type in the essay question? (In case you don't know, to send a Private Message, you just click on my user name at the left side of this post.) Thanks!!!
