Scholars Floor?

No I think there’s at least one in almost every house =)

omg omg omg omg if this is true then they must be able to accommodate everyone who wants it, right??? I mean, not everyone wants to be with honorsy people, right? or do they…

i’ve heard there are a few non-honors people in the scholars floor, but not tooo many. just apply and maybe you’ll get lucky!

Wait are you in honors? Now I’m confused haha. I don’t know how many honors kids there but it’s probably mostly freshmen in the dorms. You can look on the website and it tells you how many spots are available in each house. I think the floors are mainly for those who are a little more studious than the average UCSBer, not necessarily more boring or even less of a partier.

No I didn’t get into honors even though I got that over-achievers reception invitation. I was really disappointed :'(

Oh and tsilva- yeah spring insight is the thing 4/9! Even though it’s the Admit Day for SD but whatever I’m more interested in SB

ohh okay. and i’m not in honors either but i’m still going to try to get into the scholars floor.

yay for honors wannabes :)

There will probably be space. I’m pretty sure dorms are mostly freshman and there can’t be that many that got accepted right off the bat. And by the way, you’re invited to scholars yearly so if you kick ass next year you could be invited as a sophomore. =)

Yeah I’m totally banking on applying for it sophomore year. A 3.6 will not be an easy task like it was in high school… I’ll miss getting a high GPA!!

haha yayy  i didn’t even apply to the honors program this year…or were people just placed in it based on their grades?

How lenient are they with students drinking in their dorm. Not a party but casual drinking? I wouldn’t mind drinking a can of beer and watching sports in my dorm.

yeah everyone who applied to the school was considered, well I guess we have next year! this sucks…

I’m pretty sure it depends on the RA… If your door isn’t open and you aren’t being obnoxious then they wouldn’t have any reason to check on you so you should be fine? haha.

I don’t think they’re too strict actually, it’s not like faculty roams the halls in search of it, but I would just go out to IV.

I know UCSD has a no alcohol on campus policy which is why it’s so “dry” there. Does SB have a policy? As in UCSD doesn’t allow alcoholic beverages in your dorm even if your 21+ does SB allow drinks on campus in that sense?

i’m excited to see what IV is all about  even though I don’t drink, I can still enjoy the plethora of drunk people and loud music

I actually think it’s more fun when you’re not drunk. People drunk off their asses is one the most hilarious sights and you can’t appreciate it if you’re one of them =)

i like the way you think, sara! we should totally walk around IV together and laugh at the drunkeness

It’s a plan! I hate alcohol anyway. Sometimes being straightedge is more fun ;)
