Scholarship chances?

Hi I’m a junior and I am trying to apply to uiuc. I am instate but the tuition is a lot of money so I was wondering if you could not only tell me my chances of getting in but my chances of getting the presidential scholarship or another scholarship the gives around 15k.

I know that my act is really holding me down but if I am able to bring it to the 30’s range would I be able to get a good scholarship? I would also be majoring in a science and I live in Illinois. If I am not able to get 15k off then I won’t be able to go to my dream school. I already qualify for an almost full ride at mizzou if not. Please help! The schools that I am looking into are uiuc and ucla (I would be out of state for ucla). Thank you!

UCLA is a California public school funded by California taxpayers and does not provide OOS students with much, if anything in scholarships. Your ACT won’t qualify you for UCLA. Sorry.

If I am able to get my act’s to the 30’s, what isthe chance that I would get a good scholarship from uiuc?

@“aunt bea”

I don’t know anything about UIUC, sorry.

If you were to get a 32-36 ACT, you would probably get into UCLA, but you still would not receive any funding from a California public school.

Its going to be hard to tell since it seems your GPA is different than everyone else is used to. It’s impossible to have above a 4.0 UW. Recalculate with:
A+ and A:4
A-:3.67
B+:3.33
B:3

Etc.

And that ACT is really low. Aim for low to mid 30s.

@csumit my gpa on a 4.0 scale is a 4.08. Does that in any way help my chances with any of those schools?

I also want to clarify (I should of just put this on the original post) I received the 24 on the first act I ever took since sophomore year. Since the test in october I have gotten the Princeton act book and with very hard work I have been able to bump my score to the low 30’s. I was unsure if I should put my practice tests in the post. Anyway, I just wanted to clarify that I have bumped my act to the 30’s (32) so I would appreciate it if anyone could chance me with that score.

UIUC sucks in financial aid. Your test score is also too low for merit scholarship as it is within the mid 50 (assuming you will get 29).
