Low GPA/ High ACT UIUC

I am wondering if you think I am qualified for U of I at Urbana-Champaign

My gpa was very low for freshman and sophomore year, by the end of sophomore year my cumulative was a 3.375. I did take many hard honors classes such as AP Government, Honors Chemistry, Honors Geometry, etc I just did not do well in them.

For junior year though I got a 4.28 semester gpa (weighted) and that pulled me up to a 3.7 flat. I worked hard and took a lot of honors classes.

I am a resident of Illinois so I don't know if I have a better chance that way or not. For my ACT, I got a 33 which people say that is very unusual for the type of GPA that I have, but I worked hard and studied a lot to get it.

I am also active in extracurriculars such as sports and music.

Do you think I have a chance at UIUC?

Thanks a lot

I wouldn’t worry about it, i think you’re in judging from the averages of those accepted

You’re definitely in. A 3.7 cumulative GPA isn’t atrocious, especially since you’ve had an upward trend. A 33 on your ACT and being in-state seals the deal, assuming you haven’t killed someone or anything equally horrible.

Same sentiments

Can you chance me? I have a 3.8 gpa and 32 ACT.

Yes, to both posters.

Although the one above should probably think about starting his/her own thread.
