I am realllllly nervous about getting accepted into USC.
I feel like my application was very strong, and I understand USC looks at applications holistically, but I don't know about my SAT score. It's pretty low compared to others: 1870. I'm assuming my low SAT score will eliminate me from any consideration for any merit scholarship. If I do end up getting accepted, but I don't get any scholarships, I wouldn't be able to pay for tuition, thus not allowing me to go.

Are there any exceptions to be "eligible" to be considered? I'm extremely worried.

I’m wondering this too. I have a high GPA, decent EC’s, and I’m a Quest Bridge finalist who ranked USC. I don’t have high test scores either: 1590 SAT and 24 ACT. :o

I as well have a high gpa (3.87 uw/4.31 w), strong ec’s, I’m sure I got good recommendations (I read one, another one wrote three full pages and from what I was able to glance at, it said fairly positive things), and I think my essay was good. But from what I understand this doesn’t really matter for the presidential, dean, etc scholarship; it is high test scores that are used for scholarship consideration.

Seabass,

Scholarship selection is holistic. It is not just about grades and scores. Some students have overcome economic or physical hurdles which they do not discuss on the acceptance thread. After reading about the scholarship recipients in the past it appears there is something unique that sets them apart from other applicants.
Most students who attend SC receive financial aid. It is not wise to depend on a large scholarship. Be sure your family fills out the FAFSA and CSS Profile and return them by the deadline indicated. Some packages are very large for those families with low income and few financial assets.

Georgia,
Thank you, this puts me to ease a little bit. The only issue is that due to certain circumstances, my father received a lot more money than he should have this past year, and probably will result in not being eligible for financial aid packages from the FAFSA or CSS Profile. I’m trying to be optimistic (I know I’m going to college, I’ve been accepted to three of the nine I applied to) but USC is my dream school and I couldn’t bear to know I got accepted and not be able to go due to financial issues. I’m doing my best to find other scholarships, but there’s always that doubt and uncertainty and anxiety that I will not receive any package.
