Scholarship from Tulsa

Hi. I received a $20,000/yr Vision scholarship from Tulsa today. Is this a good scholarship? I was hoping for more because this still leaves over half of tuition unpaid.

Here are my stats:
ACT: 32 with 34 superscored
Subjects tests: 760, 700, and 650
GPA: 3.8/4.0 (All As through high school)
ECs: Started and run a very successful business, vice president of three clubs at school, student ambassador, homecoming court
School: Private
Rank: Top 5% in class of 70
Financial: My fafsa indicates that I should be able to afford college (I can't without loans)
Other: I'm also currently enrolled in a community college taking 10 hours (last semester I took 7). When I graduate, I will have over 50 hours of dual credit and transfer credit

I'm not a national merit. I did really well on the interview and I've attended several Tulsa events. I read that someone else had asked for more money. Is this something I can/should do? Any other ideas?

I am applying for outside scholarships. We'll see if any of those come through.

My son, who is a NMF but did not apply for the Presidential Scholarship (because he had already decided to go to another school), got the same offer. All of the top kids at his school who applied to TU got the same Vision scholarship offer. One thing I know for sure about TU is that their first offer is not always their best. We have known three families (besides our own) who asked for more money and received it. Being a private school, they have more wiggle room when it comes to scholarships. Definitely ask for more. Have an idea of what you need, because they will ask you for a number.

I think many are in the same situation. I know we are.

Good luck!

Today I received a big envelope with a letter as well as certificate from college President about my selection to Presidential Scholarship. Good news.

Great news - Congratulations!!!
