Hi I am in the running for the Pres scholarship but just curious if I do not get the presidential what is the average amount that people get? I have a 34 ACT and lots of 4/5’s on about 10 AP classes.
My daughter just received her award letter today. She was offered $24k yearly. I thought that was very generous. Her EC and leadership are amazing and her goal is great but her ACT was only 30. It was a nice and unexpected surprise. I’m not sure she’s all that interested in Tulsa and is still waiting to hear from all the California privates before making a decision
I just got my award today as well, I got $30k a year through the vision scholarship, and I’m hoping I got into the honors college as well so that would be an additional 2k. I have a 33 ACT and a 3.94 unweighted GPA, with several AP classes and EC’s.
I had heard TU was generous with merit scholarships, but was still pleasantly surprised that I got that much! Good luck on the Presidential scholarship!
My D also received a vision scholarship yesterday. We were surprised since we thought we would not hear until much later. Is anyone going to the Tulsa Time overnight program next week?
I received the Vision scholarship as well. I attended the Tulsa Time program back in November and really liked the university.
Consequently, Tulsa is my first choice. I am a NMF so I am hoping for the Presidential scholarship.
my son got a scholarship too for petroleum engineer not decisión taken yet, waiting for other choices, any comments regarding Tulsa quality and education?
TU is a top notch school. There is a very high standard set for professors, students, campus maintenance, etc. If you check the rankings and accolades, you will see this is substantiated with data. I believe TU is considered one of a handful of top schools nationally for petroleum engineering. My S is a freshman there and to say he is pleased and happy would be an understatement. I would be glad to answer any specific questions you may have if you would like to PM me.
thank you for your comments, we live in Spain although my son is a US citizen and studying in USA, he likes chemistry, with petroleum engineering in TU you can minor in chemistry too and all reviews i see form TU are very good and admission people have been very nice but sometimes from the distance is not so easy to be sure about the reality. Petroleum is falling in prices but bottom line someone has to get it from the earth and prices always will fluctuate. I understand from your comments that your S is quite happy and reality match with expectations you had. thank you for your helpful comments.
