Aside from my counselor at school, what is the best way to find local scholarships. I tried to look for them by simply putting 'local Nevada scholarships' in a search engine, but I was very successful. Can anyone help me out? Please and thank you.

Many high schools give packets of info to seniors that include local scholarship information/applications. Does your school do this? You could ask someone who graduated this year. In our area, these are given out in the winter, and due in the spring.
You could also try searching your local newspaper and your school’s website and that of surrounding schools.

We live in a city that has 8 high schools. Our daughter’s high school didn’t do the best job of posting scholarship opportunities on the school website (we are in the city school district). However, some of the suburban high schools in surrounding school districts did - so we would look at the other schools’ sites for local scholarship opportunities.

I believe a counselor at are school does hand out a scholarship packet, only problem is its summer, but I’ll be patient. And yeah my school website is not very helpful at all, but I’ll surely try some other school websites. Thanks!
